The (Modern) Maker Movement and Its Impact on Education

Here is my talk from the San Diego State’s STEM Education, Economics, and Equity Seminar Series. I discuss the modern maker movement and its impact on education, specifically the opportunities, challenges and insights on educators and their practice. Since my background is in digital media technologies, literacy, and teacher preparation, I often focus on educators and pose the questions “what is making?” and “why does it matter?”
