CA STEM Symposium Makerspace

What an amazing makerspace team we had for the CA STEM Symposium in Anaheim in late October! Folks from MakerEd, Autodesk, KQED, Sonoma COE, and the Maker Certificate Program created a makerspace at the Symposium for participants to engage with circuit stickers and conductive ink, laser cutting, 3D printing and design, soldering, and programming. There was also a maker stage with mini-talks on topics such as:

  • Advice for creating a makerspace
  • How to be a STEAMY K-8 admin
  • Beyond the Hour of Code
  • Bright Lights, Big STEM circuitry
  • How to assess making
  • Building Buy-in: Making Maker Educators out of Colleagues and Parents
